“Doing Anthropology on Democracy and Public Engagement” takes place on April 13 (Uppsala); April 20 (Stockholm); May 2-4 (Uppsala); and May 31 (Uppsala). It is led by Professor Sten Hagberg, Department of Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology, Uppsala University and is a collaboration between RESA (of which the Department of Social Anthropology at Stockholm University is one of the member departments), Uppsala University’s Forum for Africa Studies and Swedish Society for Anthropology and Geography.

Through cooperation between specialized scientific environments, RESA (Research School for Swedish Anthropology) offers advanced opportunities for PhD students with diverse interests in anthropology.

The courses that RESA organizes serve as a national forum for PhD students with different backgrounds, from different environments and with different financing. The idea is to allow PhD students with a common interest for anthropological research to form networks, both with nationally and internationally qualified researchers.
