The successful candidate will be expected to work with non-Eurocentric, feminist perspectives on issues of knowledge production, pedagogies, and learning. This can be done by focusing on gender, sexuality, corporality, race, migrations, decoloniality and indigeneity, or a combination of these.

Possible empirical fields of study include an analysis of pedagogical models of teaching and learning from feminist, non-occidental position, an analysis of museums or universities as arenas for knowledge production and -distribution, or studies of knowledge production outside of the traditional institutions, such as artistic, social and cultural movements.

The successful applicant will be expected to be able to collaborate well and be a creative and constructive co-worker in an interdisciplinary research environment. The position requires high level writing and speaking skills in English.

Qualified to PhD studentships are only those who are or have been admitted to graduate studies.

To be admitted to graduate studies, the applicant needs to have an advanced degree, have completed a minimum of 240 ECTS, of which at least 60 ECTS are on the advanced level. Furthermore, to be admitted to graduate studies in Gender Studies, the requirement is that at least 90 of the credits are in a subject matter related to that area, including knowledge in gender studies at a minimum of 45 credits.

Documented knowledge within the field of gender studies is a requirement for the position. An education relating to decolonial perspectives on knowledge production, feminist pedagogies, indigenous- and land based knowledge systems, and non-Western cognitive philosophies, or a combination of these, is considered a merit for the position.
