PhD candidate position (1) in Cultural Anthropology, Engaging Vulnerability

The holder of the position will be an active member of the Engaging Vulnerability (EV) research program at Uppsala University.

EV is a decade-long multidisciplinary research program (2015-2025) financed by the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet) with support from the Vice-Chancellor’s strategic funds and the Faculty of Arts at Uppsala University. The goal of the program is to conduct empirical research and develop theoretical perspectives engaging vulnerability as a productive resource rather than as a lack or privation. In the fall of 2018, research within the program will include work in anthropology, comparative literature, design studies, ethnology, media and communications, film studies, philosophy, government, gender studies, intellectual history and rhetoric.  Information about the program and its activities can be found at http://www.engagingvulnerability.se In order to be considered, the application must explain clearly how the proposed project constitutes a contribution to the overall aims of the EV-program.
