About the project

Afshin has been working for a number of years on the role of calculative knowledge in the form of ratings and rankings in regulation of businesses. His more recent work has been focused on the epistemic processes underlying the production of rankings in healthcare. Afshin’s contribution to the Global Foresight Project will be focused on the role of different calculative regimes in anticipation and in active regulatory intervention. Given his theoretical focus on sociology of knowledge in global governance, Afshin will contribute to debates related to production, travel, adaptation and consumption of regulatory knowledge in global governance and the relations of such knowledge with time and attempts at managing organizations’ present and future.
