June 12-14, University of Bonn

After successfully organizing a joint conference in May 2013 under the heading „Las Américas – The Americas – Die Amerikas“: teniendo puentes entre las Américas de hoy y ayer with about 250 participants, we take another challenge and would like to host once more researchers and colleagues from all over the world, sharing their ongoing and future research with us.

The conference Zukunft heute/gestern/morgen: Zukunftsvisionen in den Amerikas / Visions of future(s) in the Americas / Visiones de futuro(s) en las américas / Visões de Futuro(s) nas Américas is a joint project, organized by:

  • the academic staff of the Department for the Anthropology of the Americas at the University of Bonn (www.iae.uni-bonn.de)
  • the management of the Interdisciplinary Latin America Center (ILZ) at the University of Bonn (www.ilz.uni-bonn.de) and
  • the four regional groups of the German Anthropological Association (DGSKA) working on the Americas (https://en.dgska.de/working-groups/)
    - Indigenous North America
    - Mesoamerica
    - South America and
    - Afro-America with more than 200 members.

At the heart of all of this is a small and committed group of conference organizers consisting of: Louise Beckschulte, Paul Graf, Antje Gunsenheimer, Carla Jaimes Betancourt, Mirjana Jandik, Philipp Krueger, Naomi Rattunde, Lena Voigtländer, and Eriko Yamasaki.

The Call for Papers is being carried out by the organizers of the more than thirty panels at the Americas conference 2019. Please send your paper proposals directly to the panel organizers.
We ask the panel organizers to submit their panel programs by January 31st, 2019, detailing panelists with name, institution, title and abstract (max. 100 words) in German, English or Spanish.
